This particular drain plug gasket is a copper crush washer. Volvo uses these on 6 cylinder 700 series models as a engine oil drain plug gasket. These should only be tightened to the point that the copper washer slightly crushes and deforms.
This drain plug gasket is also mainly used for the fill and drain plugs for AWD major assemblies, such as the angle gear, Haldex unit and manual transmissions. The drain and fill plugs on these assemblies are meant to be tightened a few ft-lbs more than the engine oil drain plug.
