A good set of spark plugs are essential to your engine running right and not skipping a beat! Be sure to fit the right spark plug for your application, which varies depending on engine type and driving style.

Additional Part Details:

It's imperative that you install the correct SAAB or NGK spark plug.  SAABs are picky when it comes to spark plugs and they will only run just right with one or two specific spark plugs.  In this case, these are hotter, resistive spark plugs necessary for the vehicle fitment above.  It's for cars with the direct ignition cassette (DIC).  This spark plug was specifically designed by SAAB with NGK for the black T7 DIC unit.

The PFR6H-10 are a great plug for normal driving and nearly all applications for your Trionic 7 SAAB 9-3 or 9-5.  This is the factory platinum spark plug for these motors.

Also, be sure to gap these spark plugs before installation, factory spec is 0.9 mm to 1.0 mm.  Use a torque wrench when installing spark plugs.  Tightening torque is 21 ft-lbs.  The shop manual calls for a very light coat of clean motor oil on the threads of the spark plugs before installation.  A anti seize compound should never be used as this can cause misfires or over tightening of the spark plugs, besides, the spark plug threads come plated with a special coating that allows them not to seize to the cylinder head.  Use a quality dielectric grease on the DIC boots when reinstalling the DIC to the spark plugs.
