This is a direct replacement for the original Volvo part.  More likely than not, your rear plate bracket on your older Volvo has succumbed to the harshness of rough Canadian winters and has started to rust and fall apart.  Luckily, we offer a solution that is outstandingly resistant to our climate.  This product is made of Canadian sourced high quality anodized aluminum and will never rust! The hardware is of stainless steel to offer the best protection from the elements and the fit is factory spec.  This product has adjustable studs so that you can fit on a variety of license plate frames and features silicone bumpers to keep your paint finish safe.  If you have an old Volvo or want an upgrade, this is well worth the investment.  Enjoy a sleek, modern and durable product that will last as long as your beloved Volvo!

Installation could not be simpler! Go ahead and undo the 4 factory 10mm acorn nuts that hold your current license plate in and remove it.  Once done, you will find 2 bolts holding the plate bracket to the vehicle, depending on the model these bolts may be Hex or Torx.  Use the appropriate socket to remove these 2 fasteners.  Once done, remove your old bracket and clean the area to prepare it for the new SSC bracket.  Before mounting the new bracket, ensure you have adjusted the studs to your liking by backing off the jam nut that sits above the black rubber washer, sliding the stud upwards or downwards, then tightening with a wrench or socket.  The studs can also be adjusted while on the vehicle if needed.  The use of copper anti seize compound is highly recommended for the 2 fasteners that go into the vehicle to hold the plate bracket in.  Install the SSC plate bracket using the mounting holes on the left and right sides, being sure to use the opposing hole on both sides, and tighten the fasteners snug but not overtightened, just until the plate bracket is nice and solid.  Next, go ahead and remove the 4 acorn nuts and install your license plate and if applicable your license plate frame to the bracket.  Tighten the acorn nuts evenly and firmly until the license plate unit is secured properly.  The last step is to purely enjoy your new, high quality SSC plate bracket that will last as long as your Volvo will!
