It's commonplace to change this gasket whenever you remove the throttle body off of your vehicle, you wouldn't want to go through the work again just to replace a gasket that was used more than once.

Whenever you remove the electronic throttle body off of your P80 or P2 Volvo, be sure to replace this gasket. Often times, the gasket gets stuck to the intake manifold and when remove, it gets bent and deformed. Even if the gasket does come out cleanly, it has already been crushed. This is affordable insurance to be sure the job is done thoroughly!
Cable throttle body P80 models 1998 and below use a different part number entirely, for those models use throttle body gasket 9135990.
